Can I see if a contact is online?

No, you cannot see if a contact is online in order to protect your privacy. WeChat only allows you to see which people in your phonebook are also using WeChat. You can contact your friends directly if you want to reach out to them.

Does WeChat show if a message is read?

WeChat does not reveal the read status of a message. This is meant to give users control over their privacy and information shared when communicating on WeChat.

How do I create posts?

You can upload existing pictures or take new ones to share on Moments. Tap the “Discover’’ tab > select ‘’Moments’’ then tap on the camera icon on the top-right. You can also record Sight videos and post them directly to Moments (see Sights).

How do I leave a group chat?

In group chat window, tap on the icon in the top right corner > scroll to the bottom of the group info window > tap “Delete and Leave’’

Yes, you can add up to 100 people in a group chat at any point. In a group chat window, tap ‘’Chat Info’’ by tapping on the two human figures at the top right corner > tap the ‘’+’’ icon > choose a contact to add.

Simply tap on the “+” icon in the top right corner and select “New Group’’. Choose the people you want in the group chat list and start chatting.

How do I set up tags for my WeChat contacts?

Setting up specific tags for specific contacts is a breeze. Tap “Contacts” > tap “Tags” > tap “New Tag” in the top right-hand corner > select the contacts you wish to group under a specific tag and tap “OK” in the top right-hand corner > type the name of your tag and tap “Save”.
